Today i.e. Friday, there is a Diwali holiday in the stock market. Therefore, there will be no normal trading on this day. Yes, there will be Muhurat trading (Diwali Puja Muhurat 2024) in BSE and NSE in the evening on this day. This will be a one-hour special Muhurat trading session from 6 pm to 7 pm. The pre-opening session on Muhurat trading will be from 5.45 pm to 6 pm.

How Does Muhurat Trading Work?

The trading session is similar to a normal day but compressed into a one-hour window. The structure includes:

  • Pre-opening Session: A short duration for price discovery.
  • Trading Session: Active buying and selling where investors can execute trades.
  • Post-closing Session: Calculation of closing prices, which are based on trades made during the hour.

The exchanges announce the timings of Muhurat Trading a few days in advance, allowing investors to prepare.
