NEW DELHI, July 5: Tata Steel has announced an ambitious plan to invest around Rs 20,000 crore in capital expenditure during the current financial year, FY27. This commitment marks a substantial increase of approximately 38 percent compared to the Rs 14,559 crore spent in the preceding financial year of 2025-26.

CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran highlighted that a significant portion of the planned capital expenditure will be directed towards supporting Tata Steel's operations in India, with about 60 percent of the funds earmarked for this purpose. This strategic move reflects the company's confidence in the Indian market and its commitment to enhancing domestic production capabilities.

Narendran stated, "In FY26, we spent Rs 14,559 crore on capital expenditure, and we plan to increase this to approximately Rs 20,000 crore in FY 2026-27." This increase is expected to facilitate not only expansion efforts but also the adoption of advanced technologies within the company.
