The disturbing calls began on April 20, when Bismil's manager, Vibhor Hasija, received the first threatening call from a number registered in Portugal. During this call, the extortionists explicitly demanded the substantial sum of money. The situation escalated on April 23 when additional threats were made through another phone call and several voice notes, further intensifying the concern for the singer's safety.

Authorities have taken the matter seriously, with police sources indicating that the threats are being investigated for possible connections to organized crime. The Special Cell is employing various technological tools to trace the origin of the calls and identify those responsible for this criminal act.
