Hyderabad: In a significant move aimed at enhancing public transport infrastructure in Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has reached out to Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and G. Kishan Reddy, requesting urgent action on the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. His letter highlights the necessity of fast-tracking the approvals for the much-anticipated Phase-II expansion.

During high-level discussions held on June 23 and 24, 2026, Revanth Reddy underscored the strategic importance of the Metro project for the region's economic development and connectivity. He expressed concern over the current delays in the project's advancement, which he believes could hinder urban mobility and growth.

As part of the proposal, Reddy has recommended the appointment of SBICAPS (State Bank of India Capital Markets) as the nodal agency responsible for evaluating the assets of Phase-I. The Chief Minister's communication also pointed out that a comprehensive financial plan for Phase-II is essential to secure the necessary funding and streamline operations.
