The Greater Chennai Police (GCP) have officially summoned V. Senthilbalaji, a former minister and current DMK MLA, along with his brother V. Ashok Kumar, to appear before investigators regarding a case tied to alleged bribery attempts aimed at a Tamilaga Valvu Kazhagam (TVK) MLA. This inquiry is part of a broader investigation into an alleged conspiracy to undermine the ruling government of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.

The summons was served by officers from the Triplicane police station, who made a trip to Rameswarapatti in the Karur district, where the brothers were notified through their parents. The police have requested their presence for questioning on Monday, indicating the seriousness of the allegations they face.

According to police reports, the case underscores significant political tensions as it points to attempts to bribe opposition members. The investigation centers around claims that the bribery was intended to influence a key MLA from the TVK, thereby creating a pathway to destabilize the current government.

The situation has drawn considerable media attention, with political analysts speculating about the implications of such allegations during a volatile electoral period. The DMK party, of which Senthilbalaji is a prominent member, has yet to respond publicly to the summons.

As these developments unfold, both Senthilbalaji and his brother face critical scrutiny from law enforcement and political observers alike. The outcome of this investigation could have significant ramifications for the DMK party and its standing within the state’s political landscape.

Legal experts suggest that if evidence is presented during questioning, it could lead to further investigations or legal actions against the individuals involved. Both Senthilbalaji and Ashok Kumar have previously denied any wrongdoing in related matters.
