Srinagar, July 04: In a proactive step to ensure the smooth conduct of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha convened a high-level meeting today. The focus of the meeting was to evaluate various aspects of the pilgrimage, including the movement of devotees, traffic coordination, and security measures.

During the discussions, it was highlighted that a significant influx of pilgrims has been arriving at the Yatra site without obtaining valid registrations. This situation has resulted in prolonged waiting times for many devotees, hampering the overall experience of the pilgrimage.

"The safety and convenience of the pilgrims are our top priorities," stated Sinha. He emphasized that proper registration is crucial not only for managing the flow of visitors but also for ensuring adequate security arrangements and accommodation availability.

The review meeting assessed logistical challenges and noted that the current registration process was not being adhered to by a considerable number of pilgrims. This breach has raised concerns about crowd control and resource allocation, prompting calls for stricter regulations.

In light of these findings, the LG appealed to all prospective pilgrims to secure their registrations well in advance of their journey. He urged the public to check official platforms for updates on registration and other relevant information related to the Yatra.

Authorities are now considering implementing additional measures to streamline the registration process, including enhanced online facilities and public awareness campaigns. The aim is to alleviate the existing bottlenecks and facilitate a more organized pilgrimage experience.
