The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), based in Gandhinagar, has officially released the results for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Science Stream Supplementary Examination 2026. This announcement comes as a crucial opportunity for students who previously struggled in the board examinations held between February and March 2026.

The overall pass percentage for this year's supplementary examination stands at a low 27.36%, reflecting the challenges faced by the candidates. Out of 18,549 students who registered for the supplementary exam, about 16,120 participated, highlighting a significant turnout among those hoping to improve their scores.

According to GSHSEB data, only 4,411 candidates successfully passed the examination, marking a steep decline in pass rates compared to previous years. Educational experts have expressed concerns regarding the declining performance trends, urging for improved academic support systems for students in the state.

The supplementary examination serves as a vital lifeline for students, allowing them to reattempt subjects they had previously failed in order to secure their Higher Secondary Certificate. While the opportunity is designed to boost student confidence and performance, the current results indicate that many students still face considerable hurdles.

Officials from the GSHSEB have advised students to focus on their study strategies and utilize available resources to enhance their understanding of the subjects. They also emphasized the importance of regular attendance and engagement in class to support better outcomes in future assessments.

As educationalists reflect on these results, calls for reform in teaching methodologies and curriculum adjustments are becoming more pronounced. The GSHSEB is expected to collaborate with schools to develop targeted interventions aimed at improving student performance in upcoming years.
