In a bold statement on Friday, the Congress party articulated its concerns regarding the state of electoral democracy in India, asserting that it faces unprecedented threats under the Modi-Shah regime. The party has called on the Supreme Court to take immediate action to preserve the electoral process and its foundational integrity.

Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal shared a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of India (CJI), which was signed by 23 opposition parties and an Independent MP. The letter outlines several key issues, including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and alleged biases within the Election Commission of India (ECI).
